A Clue a Day #2

Here is the second of five clues to a trivia question I will answer on December 26. Then, I'll reveal the names of anyone who emails me with the name of the person in question.

Clue #2: This person's airplane is on display at the National Air and Space Museum's Steven Udvar-Hazy Center at Dulles Airport in Chantilly, VA. (Hint) It's the Spirit, but not of St. Louis.
